Welcome to the Township of Faraday
Faraday
Township is strategically located just two short hours from Toronto (to the
south) and Ottawa (to the east). The Township is situated in the northern part
of the County of Hastings and is bordered by the Town of Bancroft, Township
of Wollaston and the newly formed municipalities of Highlands East and Hastings
Highlands.
Faraday is blessed with its numerous water bodies and breathtaking natural
landscape. In the Summer and Fall months, we enjoy a loyal influx of cottagers
who for years have experienced the quiet beauty of our lakes, rivers and forests.
Vacationers are abundant and return year after year to the tranquility of the
area and the friendliness offered by our residents. In recent years, the Winter
season has experienced a healthy snowmobiling and cross-country skiing economy.
Let us not overlook the ever popular sport of ice fishing. Recreational life
in Faraday is full and exciting.
Faraday boasts of its good and plentiful minerals, including beautiful marble
deposits. Marble from our quarries has been used in some of our Country's finest
buildings. Lumbering is also a viable and major business in our area.
The Township is well served by a fully equipped volunteer Fire Department,
Quinte Healthcare Corporation North Hastings - a fully staffed and equipped
hospital located in Bancroft. Several dentists, dental therapists, chiropractors
and many volunteer service agencies are available to serve you.
The people of Faraday Township extend a warm welcome to visitors. Whether you
are coming back to visit friends and family or discovering the beauty and richness
of Faraday Township for the first time, you will appreciate our warm hospitality
and unique character.
Come and experience a different kind of lifestyle. Stay for a week or a lifetime!
